Assumption Province

*                   Our 2005-2006 calendars – a project connected to the 50th anniversary events in our Province – has been printed and already shipped out West.  The Toronto District can pick up their copies during Monday’s district meeting.  I can say that they look fantastic and I am very happy that we were able to complete them on time.  If someone from the Toronto area would like to pick up their calendars earlier, please contact me.  The calendars have been published in an English and Polish version.  I’d also like to remind you of the way in which we are to distribute the calendars:  We are to give them out for a donation offered in support of our missionary work (za dobrowolną ofiarą na cele misyjne naszego Zgromadzenia).  We are not to set a price and sell them for any concrete amount.  All the offerings received are to be sent to the Provincial house.  This will enable us to offset the cost of printing the calendars and also of producing our anniversary book and photo album, which will have a special significance.

I would also like to ask you to remember Fr. Zygmunt Musielski in your prayers, as in the last few days his health has significantly deteriorated.  Fr. Ziggy is staying at the Provincial House.

*                  Information for the Toronto District:  On Monday August 15 we will celebrate the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, the Patroness of our Province.  A meeting will take place at the Provincial House on this occasion.  I hope that each of you will attend.  We will have two illustrious guests from Poland joining us: Bishop Piotr Libera, who will preside over the events at Midland this coming Sunday, and Bishop Marian Florczyk from Kielce. At 11:30 AM Mass will be celebrated in the intention of our Province and deceased confreres.  After Mass a BBQ will be held.

On the occasion of the feast day of our Patroness, I would like to wish all our Fathers an abundance of God’s blessings and maternal care of Mary Immaculate.

Fr. Janusz Blazejak OMI
